L A S H Talk About Isolating !!
Isolating can seem like one on the hardest things to do when starting out as a lash artist ! We see soo many pictures of other lash artist work and we are trying to figure out how to get our lash work to look for neat! Well ISOLATION IS KEY!!! The first thing I suggest in helping with isolation is the right tools! Yes we can purchase Tweezers that will save us a few coins (for the moment) but it won't be good in the long run! That's because they won't allow you to actually have a good grip on isolating those lashes properly . Always research your products before use as well! Just because it's a "popular" item doesn't mean it's good! Another thing is adhesive. Yes we all want the faster drying adhesive because of course as the saying goes "time is money" but I'm here to let you know the average time to complete a Classic Set of lashes is 2-2.5 hours and Volume 3.5-4 depending on lash design.
So if you know that your lashing skills aren't on the level to have a 2 second drying adhesive , DONT TRY IT! One of the many reason why Lashes are clumped together is because the adhesive isn't fully dry and the eyelash extension doesn't have enough time to fully adhere to the natural lash. To avoid this , place the lash extension on the natural lash and hold the tweezers open for a few seconds to allow the lash extension to dry. There are many levels to this lash game and if you're just starting out and need a longer drying adhesive then so be it! EMBRACE that stage because you won't be there for long! Every butterfly 🦋 was once a caterpillar 🐛 I can't stress this last tip enough PRACTICE! You have to PRACTICE ! Yes practicing on live models for isolating is best but sometimes you need to pull out ol' mannequin head and get to work!!! Getting live model practice will help with seeing and dealing with different types of lashes . The only way to learn is just DO IT! Don't be afraid to tackle the issue! Remember when you had to learn how to ride a bike without training wheels ( boy I didn't want my daddy to let go of the back of that bike) but once I got it , I was riding up and down the block with no hands on the handle bars!! I know all of us have experienced that feeling!! ( We thought we were doing it lol) Let's reclaim that feeling ! Being a Lash Artist is a gift many won't understand but you and your client ! But mastering a skill is like letting those handle bars go!! LETS RIDE LADIES!! What are some tips you would like to share for isolating ? L A S H Talk About It!👂🏽🗣
