L A S H Talk About Retention!

Everyone has experienced that dreaded conversation between you and a client of "My Lashes fell off" and of course we can ask the client the normal questions such as "Did you get them wet before 24 hours?", " Have you worn any oil based products around your eye?", "Did you pull on them?" Putting the "blame" on the client because for all we know they had lashes on when they left your salon right?! Well wrong! It takes time for glue to "cure" hence the 24 hours wait time to get them wet but another MAJOR factor is HUMIDTY!!

It seems quite funny to say humidity effects our lashes, however, there is actually a lot more that goes into lashes than just pulling them off a sticky strip and placing them on a clients natural lash. As lash artists we are trained to control the humidity in the application room, that means making sure that the glue will work as intended (to adhere to the lash and HOLD) however, once you clients are outside in the HOT, STEAMY, HUMID weather, we cannot control that. Unfortunately, they cannot either. The summer months tend to be the "shorter fill period" months due to the unpredictable weather. Every artist experiences it and unfortunately some consumers feel discouraged in these months because it could mean paying more often for refills. So to ensure that your application room temperate is perfect for your glue I suggest purchasing a humity monitor to check the temperature and a humidifier to adjust is needed. One thing as a lash artist if we can control our environment we need to do such that! Make your room perfect for your glue !
